In 2024 I wrote 3 short stories. As this was the year of the Blue Dragon, it seemed appropriate to use this image to teach water safety to children.
There are on average 2,000 drownings every year in Vietnam, this figure is the highest in Southeast Asia. One of the problems is it is not one child drowning but 3 or 4 people at the same time as they all try to help each other. This has been the foundation of the 3 Dragon stories, the Blue Dragon is a good swimmer but does not jump in to rescue, he calls for his friend the Lifeguard Dragon to help. The aim of the stories is to teach the children how to help without jumping into the water. They have been written in English and translated into Vietnamese.
Năm 2024, tôi đã viết 3 truyện ngắn. Vì đây là năm của Rồng Xanh, nên có vẻ như việc sử dụng hình ảnh này để dạy trẻ em về an toàn dưới nước là phù hợp.
Trung bình có 2.000 ca đuối nước mỗi năm ở Việt Nam, con số này cao nhất ở Đông Nam Á. Một trong những vấn đề là không phải một đứa trẻ chết đuối mà là 3 hoặc 4 người cùng lúc khi tất cả đều cố gắng giúp đỡ lẫn nhau. Đây là nền tảng của 3 câu chuyện về Rồng, Rồng Xanh bơi giỏi nhưng không nhảy xuống cứu, mà gọi người bạn Rồng Cứu Hộ đến giúp. Mục đích của những câu chuyện này là dạy trẻ em cách giúp đỡ mà không cần nhảy xuống nước. Chúng được viết bằng tiếng Anh và được dịch sang tiếng Việt.
